Getting back to real life....
We're back from our vacation to California. We had a great time. The weather was perfect. The kids had a blast at the beach. I think we wore them out every day.
On Tuesday we flew into Oakland. Then we drove down to Santa Cruz. We stayed at the Hilton. It was a beautiful Hotel. Hope got to go swimming (in the hot tub) for the first time. She loved it. She also got to taste her first Popsicle given to her by her Uncle Just. She loved it too.
Wednesday we went down the the Boardwalk. The kids were so excited to go to the beach. We spent most of the day laying on the sand enjoying the sun.
And in the evening we went on the rides. Even Lauren went with her cousin Jake on the world famous roller coaster. She was so nervous, but she had to ride it to find out what the "secret" of Santa Cruz Coaster was. She's glad she went, but I don't know that she'll ever go again!
Thursday we spent the day at Great America theme park in San Jose.
The kids wanted to ride the "little rides" so we did that for most of the day. And then towards the end of the day Justin and I went on every roller coaster there. Our favorite was called "Survivor" the ride named after the T.V. show. It was a lot of fun. I would say a close second was a ride called "flight Deck". Me, Just and Tom went on it 2 times in a row. After that, I needed to sit for a little while. I think it shook up my insides. :)
Friday morning was my doctor appt at Stanford. My doctor there went over my last 2 CAT scans and said my lymph nodes had actually gone down a little. She said that only happens in less than 10% of all lymphoma patients. Usually it takes some type of treatment to shrink lymph nodes. I feel very blessed I'm in that very small minority. It doesn't mean the cancer is going away, but it does mean it will be that much longer before I need to start treatment. I'm so thankful for this gift!
After my doctors appt we all spent the afternoon in San Francisco. We went to see the Golden Gate Bridge (we actually drove over the bridge thanks to a wrong turn. No Lar...it's not your fault:) And then we went to Pier 39 to see the sea lions.
It was a fun day.

I am so glad you had such a fun vacation and some good news to go along with it. We are happy that things are going well. Even though we won't see you as often, I still mean what I said. Please call me if you need a break or a night out. Sometimes that is all you need.
