Hope's Blessing

February was a very good month. We had Hope blessed last weekend. It was so wonderful to have our family come up from Utah for her blessing. I thought she would sleep right through the blessing, but she was wide awake and so cute. A friend of mine in our ward made Hope a beautiful floral headband that had a long white ribbon train. And then she wore the dress my Grandma LaNae had bought for Lauren to wear. She looked like a little princess.

Hope is 3 months old now and recognizes people. She loves to look around. She's able to hold her head up and turn toward voices. She's also started smiling and even laughing a little (which makes Josh very happy).

Health wise for me, things are going pretty good. I had a little scare in February where I thought I might need to start treatment. My doctor at Stanford told me I did have some tumors around my right kidney, and if they started causing problems with my kidney function, then I would need to start treatment right away to shrink them down. I did have some kidney pain a couple of weeks ago and was in the ER. They did a CT scan and found a kidney stone. On one hand I was glad it was something besides the tumor, and on the other hand a kidney stone is not at all enjoyable either. But after one day with some good pain meds I was doing good. Actually great! (thanks to a little morphine:) My next CT scan is scheduled for March 20th. And at that point we will decide if we will continue with the "wait and watch" plan. And then I'm following up with my Stanford doctor in June. But we're turning that appt into a family vacation. Can't wait!!!!

Larry, Lauren and Josh are all doing good as well. We're still looking forward to some warm weather. I'm getting a little tired of all the coughs and sneezes. Hope your all staying warm & healthy! Love, Jen
